Kirby-Dersham Slurry Wall
Project Location: Brighton, Colorado
This design-build water storage project is located along the South Platte River Basin. We completed construction to combine two previously lined cells into one complete soil-bentonite cutoff wall (slurry wall) cell. To do this we utilized the material that separated the cells for mine reclamation along the perimeter of the cell. This cell was approximately 200,000 SF with an average depth of 31 FT to bedrock allowing for up to 2,700 AF of water storage. This is a part of Aurora's 300 million dollar Integrated Water Master Plan. Eventually, this cell will be interconnected with the Walker Project.
